Hey just a quick word from the UK- but great starter advice.

I ride a julie standard GT iDrive comp 3 in deep blue (it's real nice!) on a one speed with hessefelt crank arms on an isis spline.

A small word on the cranks for the one speed set up. You can take the middle of a crankset, thats how i started on a "Oner" for my trails, but making the swich to a can be tough. I am not a fan on a 3 peice with clamp on arms as these can wear and every pedal turns the crank out! Ive seen in happen on a pair of Gusset Pygmy's.

The best thing to look out for is the chain ring itself - something that is 4-5 mm thick and durable, with a bash guard is what i would recomend.

I love the feel of the ride - smooth and poweful, with the ability to trick, jump, and run those BMX's DOWN!! Its like going back to nature! i love single speed! wouldnt change to the new 10 speed cassette shimano (BOO!) bought out !

Peace . . .

Anyone got any info on a great value, strong and stiff crankset for single speed??
